The Pre-Roman State of Baden became the Grand Duchy of Baden in 1806.
Stamps of various denominations were issued between 1851 & 1871.
In 1872, the stamps of the Grand Duchy of Baden were replaced by those of the German Empire.
Baden is now part of the German State of Baden-Württemberg.

BAVARIA (Bayern)
Bavaria became the Duchy of Bavaria in the 6th century AD, following the collapse of the Western Roman Empire.
It was later incorporated into the Holy Roman Empire, became the independent Kingdom of Bavaria after 1806.
Stamps of various denominations were issued between 1851 & 1871, and Six German Empire Stamps were overprinted in 1919.
After the fall of the Bavarian Socialist Republic in 1919, the Bamberg Constitution was enacted creating the Free State of Bavaria.
Bavaria is the largest of the Sixteen States of the Federal Republic of Germany.
